Application Support Method of Anti Seismic Products
In application, they are divided into two forms: lateral support and two-way support. During the actual installation, the anti-seismic bracing and hanging brackets need to be set as suspended type or supported type according to the on-site situation. For the combined application of a single specialty or multiple specialties, they can also be divided into multiple forms such as single-pipe support, multi-pipe support, bridge support, and combined support.
Types of Earthquake-resistant Building Supports
Pinned support
A pinned support, also known as a hinge support, allows rotation but restricts translational movement in any direction. This means that the support can resist horizontal and vertical forces but cannot resist a moment (rotation).
Fixed support
Fixed supports restrict all forms of movement: Horizontal, vertical, and rotational. This type of support provides the highest degree of restraint and is capable of resisting moments as well as forces.
Roller support
Roller supports allow movement in one direction while restricting movement in the perpendicular direction. They cannot resist horizontal forces or moments but can resist vertical forces.
Simple support
Simple supports are a combination of pinned and roller supports. They allow rotation and horizontal movement but restrict vertical displacement. These supports are commonly used in theoretical analyses and practical applications.
Sliding support
Sliding supports are similar to roller supports but with less restriction. They allow translational movement in a specific direction while resisting movement in the perpendicular direction.
Cable support
Cable supports are unique to structures where tension is the primary force. They allow for flexibility and are used in systems where loads are transferred through tension.
Rockers and rocker bearings
Rockers are specialized supports that allow rotation and some translational movement. They are typically used in large structures requiring flexibility due to dynamic forces.
Elastomeric bearings
Elastomeric bearings are flexible supports made of rubber-like materials that allow controlled movement and rotation while resisting vertical loads.
Structure of Anti Seismic Products
Diaphragms
A diaphragm is a structural element – typically horizontal – that transmits lateral loads to the vertical resisting elements of a structure. Examples of diaphragms are the floors and roofs. Earthquake-resistant buildings place these elements on their own deck and are strengthened horizontally, allowing them to share force loads with vertical elements of the structure.
Shear walls
These vertical design elements are used to resist in-plane lateral forces. These walls help resist the swaying forces of earthquakes by stiffening the frame of the building.
Cross-bracing: A cross-bracing system features diagonal supports that intersect. This can be accomplished by a variety of columns, braces, and beams that aim to transfer the seismic loads back to the ground.


Trusses
Trusses are used to add strength where the diaphragms are weakest. These are commonly diagonal structures that fit into rectangular angles of the frame.
Moment-resisting frames
An assembly of beams and columns in which those beams are flexible, but are rigidly connected to the columns. The resulting frame provides resistance to lateral forces through the flexible movement in the columns and beams while the joints and connectors remain rigid.
