The materials of shock-absorbing products mainly include the following categories:
Rubber: Rubber materials have good elasticity and energy absorption performance, and are often used to manufacture shock-absorbing products such as rubber plates, rubber pads, and rubber balls. It can effectively absorb the energy of earthquakes or vibrations and reduce the vibration and noise of structures and equipment. The advantages of rubber shock absorbers include light weight, good elasticity, and wear resistance, but the disadvantages are high natural frequency, small compression, easy to be affected by the external environment, and short service life.
Metal materials: including steel, aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy, etc. These materials have high strength and corrosion resistance, and are suitable for occasions that need to withstand large impact and vibration forces. For example, aluminum alloy shock absorbers are widely used in fields such as automobiles and aircraft due to their lightweight design and good heat dissipation performance.
Spring: Springs are usually made of high-strength alloy steel or stainless steel materials to absorb and buffer impact forces. The advantages of spring shock absorbers are strong shock absorption ability and long service life, but the disadvantages are that they are easy to transmit medium-frequency vibrations, have relatively low critical damping, and have poor vibration isolation capabilities near the resonant frequency.
Foam material: Mainly made of polyurethane or polyethylene, it has the characteristics of lightness, heat insulation and shock absorption. Foam shock-absorbing materials are often used for wall sound insulation and floor vibration isolation in buildings.
EVA material: EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) has good shock absorption performance, is light and not easy to deform, and has a relatively low price. But it is easy to lose its characteristics and functions under high load conditions.
ACF material: ACF (artificial cartilage material) is a new type of polymer composite material that can absorb more than 90% of the impact force and has the characteristics of high pressure resistance, deformation resistance, long life and environmental protection. ACF materials are widely used in sports protection, medical equipment, electronic chip protection and other fields.
Lead material: Materials with higher density such as lead plates and lead wires have good energy absorption performance and are often used in seismic isolation equipment and shock absorption structures in buildings.
